Kumul Minerals Holdings Limited (KMHL) strengthened its connections with industry partners, students, businesses and communities during PNG Resources Week 2026, held from 13 to 17 July at APEC Haus in Port Moresby.
KMHL was the Principal Sponsor of the Community Affairs and National Content Conference and Exhibition (CANCONEX), which brought together representatives from government, the resources sector, educational institutions, landowner groups and local businesses.
The event focused on increasing opportunities for Papua New Guineans to participate in the resources sector and ensuring communities benefit from the development of the country’s mineral wealth.
Throughout the week, KMHL’s exhibition booth attracted delegates and members of the public interested in learning about the company’s investments and its role in PNG’s minerals sector.
The booth also gave the KMHL team an opportunity to speak directly with students interested in careers in mining, local businesses seeking opportunities and stakeholders keen to share their views on the future of the industry.
KMHL also participated in the PNG Resources Summit and Golden Exhibition and concluded the week-long event with the Charity Golf Day on Friday.
KMHL Managing Director Sarimu Kanu said the event provided an important opportunity for the company to listen, exchange ideas and build relationships across the sector.
“PNG Resources Week brings together people with different experiences but a common interest in seeing our resources create real opportunities for Papua New Guineans,” Mr Kanu said.
“The conversations we had with students, businesses, industry partners and other visitors were valuable. They help us understand people’s expectations and the part KMHL can play in creating greater value from our mineral resources,” Mr Kanu added.
KMHL will continue working with government, industry, communities, educational institutions and local businesses to support national participation and deliver lasting benefits from PNG’s mineral resources.
